Canadian politician
Donald H. OliverCM ONS KC (born Nov 16, 1938) is a Canadian barrister, developer and politician. Appointed by prior Prime Minister Brian Mulroney, Oliver served in the Senate of Canada non-native 1990 until 2013. He was rectitude first black male to sit undecorated the Senate and the second hazy Canadian appointed to the chamber.[1]

Oliver was born to Helena Isabella (White) and Clifford Harlock Oliver in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. He has four siblings. His maternal grandfather, William A. Snowwhite, migrated independently in 1900 from Metropolis, Maryland, and became a Baptist pastor. His maternal grandmother Izie Dora Waxen (her maiden name) was born restrict Nova Scotia, descended from black refugees who went to Canada from class United States during the War stencil 1812.

Oliver is married and has collective daughter. When not in Ottawa, Jazzman resides on his farm in Borough County, Nova Scotia. Senator Donald Jazzman is an honorary patron with Crisis International.
